We have lessons every day. To be honest, few lessons struck me deeply until two foreign exchange students came to our English class to talk with us the other day. It was really an unforgettable lesson.
The two students, who were from Germany, came to our class to give us a presentation. At first we were all very nervous. However, our nervousness disappeared soon after we started talking with each other.
To my great surprise, the German students couldn’t speak English as well as expected. Their pronunciation sounded strange to us. They couldn’t even understand a common word. But this didn’t prevent them from communicating with us at all. They tried to say what they could with the help of body language and facial expressions.
From this unforgettable lesson I have learned that we should take every chance possible to practice speaking English instead of just sitting and keeping silent in English class.

Last summer I went to U.S.A to spend three weeks study with the local students, where I learned a lot of new things and I will never forget the Astrology class.
That morning we went to the local space museum to have my first lesson abroad. During the class, we had a discussion on whether we should carry out the space project. With the advanced teaching materials and the experienced professor, we had a general idea of our space success and failure as well. I first realized how serious the population explosion and the pollution was. What’s more, I learned the earth was faced with more difficulties than ever before. This class was not only my first class abroad but also helped me learn how important space exploration was to us.

The International Youth Festival will be held in Shanghai soon and I am honoured to be a volunteer.
As a volunteer, it is my duty to do my best for the International Youth Festival. First, I’ll help to organize the festival. For example, I can send out leaflets and put up posters in the streets. I can offer my suggestions to the Festival Organization Committee. Second, I have a good command of foreign languages. I can speak English and Japanese. Therefore I am capable of being a guide and translator for the visitors. I’d like to answer their questions to help them solve problems so that they can have a good time during their stay in shanghai.
Also, I can benefit from the work as it can enrich my social experience and broaden my horizons.
I hope the International Youth Arts Festival will be a great success and make a deep impression on the foreign visitors who attend.
How to make wise use of the computer
With the rapid development /fast growth of modern science /new technology, the computer has played a more and more important role in our society. Meanwhile, how to make wise use of the computer is also very important.
First, I will learn what is happening / have access to immediate international events through the internet to widen my knowledge. What’s more, I can depend on the computer to write my blog and down load pop music.
With the help of the computer, I find my life interesting and fascinating.
有些学生喜欢报刊阅读，有些学生喜欢电脑了解新闻信息，我的选择。 Nearly one-third of the students still prefer the traditional reading pattern---newspaper while the rest have turned to the computer.
I take the newspaper. First, compared with the headline reading on the net, newspaper covers a wider range. What’s more, newspaper reading does less harm to eyes than on-line reading because the computer screen flashes from time to time. Finally, we can take the newspaper to read wherever there is no electricity or no web signal.
So, I have developed the habit of reading newspaper to learn what is happening all over the world.

As a Junior Three student, I think I should not only study hard, but also serve the society well if I am given a chance. The end of the junior school life will provide me with a good chance to work as a volunteer in the coming summer holiday.
What I most want to do is to take care of the old living alone without relatives， I can read newspapers and interesting stories to them, help them wash the clothes, and cook for them. Besides, I will try my best to collect the rubbish in my neighborhood to make the surroundings clean and beautiful. Finally, I can follow the adult volunteers to advise those who smoke in public not to smoke.
I believe I will have interesting experience as a volunteer.

April 6, 2011 Dear Mr. Li,
I’m very sorry that I can’t follow the class to go on a trip next week. I have to ask for a sick leave because I was caught in the heavy rain on my way back home yesterday. When I felt uncomfortable, my mother took me to the hospital. The doctor there took my temperature and told me I got a high fever. So the doctor asked me to have a good rest at home and have some medicine.
I hope my classmates will have a good time while travelling. What a pity I can’t go with you.
