react immediately to make sure that

equipment is never exposed to damaging

surges between lines or the lines and

ground. Reacting instantaneously, the SLP

redirects surges safely to ground and

then resets automatically.

The versatile SLP series design considers

the need for high packing densitiesand

has a product combining protection for

two process loops into one case. Each

module provides full hybrid surge protec-

tion for two process loops.

For higher bandwidth applications,the SLP

series has been developed to meet the

demands of today’s highest speed com-

munication systems.

One simple manual opera-

tionclamps modules

securely onto DIN

rail, which auto-matically provides the essential high-integrity ground connection.A 10 Year ‘No Fuss’ warranty is availableas standard for the SLP so if a correctlyconnected device should fail for any rea-son, simply return it for a free replace-ment.‘Top-hat’ (T-section) DIN railis generallysuitable for mounting SLP modulesalthough for adverse environments, a spe-cially-plated version is available fromMTLSurge Technologies.GGGGGThe SLP Series is a range of surge protec-tion devices combining high packing densi-ties, application versatility, proven hybrid cir-cuitry and simple installation -- featureswhich make the series the most cost effec-tive surge protection solution for processcontrol equipment systems and communica-tions networks.The multi-stage hybrid surge protection net-workat the heart of the SLP uses a combi-nation of solid state electronics and a gasfilled discharge tube (GDT) to provide surgeprotection up to 20kA. This impressive surgeprotection circuit is designed to exhibitexceptionally low line resistance and addsonly a tiny voltage drop to the circuit.In operation, the SLP device does notadversely affect the performance or opera-tion of the loopor combined equipment. Thedevice allows signals to pass with very littleattenuation while diverting surge currentssafely to ground and clamping output volt-

ages to safe levels.
